How Ayurveda came into my life… I was broken

I was first introduced to Ayurveda in the year 2014 during my yoga practice with my Russian yoga teacher who was telling me about all the miraculous cures that she and her colleges have seen at one of the Integrative Medicine, Yoga and Ayurveda Centres in Moscow, Russia.

At the time, I was going through a difficult auto-immune health challenge that hit me like nothing ever did in my life after the birth of my second daughter.

Conventional medicine offered no answer to my health issue and, as most of us do, I was desperately searching, paying visits to Naturopaths, Chinese medicine practitioners, Energy healers, you name it.

I was 33 years old, I had two young daughters under 2, a demanding full-time career as a Civil Engineer working on Construction Project sites. My parents have just immigrated from Russia and moved right in with us along with my English mother-in-law moving into the granny flat practically at the same time.

My husband was working fly-in fly-out 3 weeks on 1 week off, I was juggling a household with a newborn, a toddler, my parents in one room and my mother-in-law in the granny flat while going to work five days a week.

Both my mental and physical health were at the all time low.

I had it long time coming…I broke down…I screamed…I broke some plates…I took some time off and booked in for a 8-Day Panchakarma treatment at AmrtaSiddhi Ayurvedic Centre in Ubud, Bali.

This started my journey into the world of Ayurveda.

That was 5 years ago and that’s when my life changed.

To be continued…
