Our Dhroni Massage Table is of traditional design used to perform the ancient ayurvedic treatments of shirodhara (pouring of medicated oil, milk, buttermilk over forehead) and sarvanga dhara (pouring of herbal decoction or oil all over the whole body) . Proper size and slopes were maintained while handcarving this table to allow the treatment oils flow down from the table. Handcrafted and hand carved to perfection by Indian carpenters from medicinal Venga wood. This Droni was custom made for Rainbow Parakeet Ayurveda and travelled all the way from Kerala, India, the heart of Ayurveda.
Our traditional wooden steam box was hand carved by Indian craftsmen and travelled all the way from Kerala, India along with the Dhroni Massage Table. We love it! Steam therapy (Swedana) has multiple health benefits. You will enjoy the Steam treatment as part of majority of our treatments.
Wooden Shirodhara Stand with copper and brass pot is traditionally used in the Ayurvedic therapy and involves gently pouring liquids over the forehead. The name Shirodhara comes from the Sanskrit words shiro (head) and dhara (flow) and forms part of Panchakarma (five actions), an Ayurvedic cleansing program.
