Ayurvedic Basti Karma (Enema therapy) is one of the top treatments highly effective for a variety of ailments. Enema Therapy is part of the Panchakarma (deep Ayurvedic detoxification protocol). It is a unique Ayurvedic treatment not to be confused with any other available colonic cleanses. Basti treatments not only correct and nourish function of large intestine but also improve function of bone tissue. Hence the medication administered rectally effects both colon and bone function. The mucus membrane of the colon is related to the outer covering of the bones (periosteum), which nourishes the bones. Therefore, any medication given rectally goes into the deeper tissues, like bones. You will spend approx. 1 hour at the clinic each day at certain parts of the day (morning or afternoon); - You will be asked to follow specific diet in preparation during and 1 week after therapies and will be prescribed herbal protocol to rejuvenate and strengthen the system. - You will also be recommended some external in clinic treatments to support strengthening and rejuvenation after enemas such as shirodhara treatments and/or navarakizhi (bolus massage with medicated rice). If not possible, guidance for some at home care will be provided. Book consultation to discuss suitability of these treatments. The cost at the time of Booking is the cost for consultation ($90) which is included with the cost of the 8 days of enemas should you decide to proceed.
